In the 1st year at uni we had three cubes and used to race each other.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Layer 1<\/strong>, No codes needed, just do it!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Layer 2<\/strong>, Have finished layer on the bottom. This moves top-middle to middle-left:<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>FU<sup>2<\/sup>R<font color=\"red\">U&#8217;R&#8217;<\/font>U<sup>2<\/sup><font color=\"red\">F&#8217;<\/font> or if the colours match on the front face do <font color=\"red\">U&#8217;<\/font>FU<sup>2<\/sup>RU<font color=\"red\">R&#8217;<\/font>U<sup>2<\/sup><font color=\"red\">F&#8217;<\/font><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li><strong>Layer 3<\/strong>, Have finished layer on the bottom. We only worry about positions first, then once every cube is in the correct position we worry about the orientation.<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Corner Positions:<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Corners Clockwise (<i>FR stays put<\/i>):  <font color=\"red\">L&#8217;<\/font>UR<font color=\"red\">U&#8217;<\/font> LU<font color=\"red\">R&#8217;U&#8217;<\/font> (<i>outside, last<\/i>)<\/li>\n<li>Corners Anti-Clockwise (<i>FR stays put<\/i>): UR<font color=\"red\">U&#8217;L&#8217;<\/font> U<font color=\"red\">R&#8217;U&#8217;<\/font>L (<i>Last, inside<\/i>)<\/li>\n<li>Back Corners swapped: F<font color=\"red\">U&#8217;B&#8217;<\/font>U <font color=\"red\">F&#8217;U&#8217;<\/font>BU<sup>2<\/sup>  (<i>inside, first, last<sup>2<\/sup><\/i>)<\/li>\n<li>Front left to back right: UFUR <font color=\"red\">U&#8217;R&#8217;F&#8217;<\/font><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li> Middle Positions<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Middles Clockwise (<i>R stays put<\/i>): L<sup>2<\/sup>U<font color=\"red\">F&#8217;<\/font>BL<sup>2<\/sup>F <font color=\"red\">B&#8217;<\/font>UL<sup>2<\/sup>  (<i>lufbourgh football<\/i>)<\/li>\n<li>Middles anti-clockwise (<i>R stays put<\/i>):  L<sup>2<\/sup><font color=\"red\">U&#8217;F&#8217;<\/font> BL<sup>2<\/sup>F <font color=\"red\">B&#8217;U&#8217;<\/font>L<sup>2<\/sup><\/li>\n<li>Middles opposite Swap (<i>Swaps F with B and L with R<\/i>):  R<sup>2<\/sup>L<sup>2<\/sup> D R<sup>2<\/sup>L<sup>2<\/sup> U<sup>2<\/sup> R<sup>2<\/sup>L<sup>2<\/sup> D R<sup>2<\/sup>L<sup>2<\/sup>\n<li>Middles adjacent Swap (<i>Swaps L with F and R with B<\/i>): R BU <font color=\"red\">B&#8217;U&#8217;<\/font>R<sup>2<\/sup> <font color=\"red\">F&#8217;U&#8217;<\/font> FUR<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>Corners Orientation:<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Twist front-right corner clockwise: <font color=\"red\">R&#8217;<\/font>DRFD<font color=\"red\">F&#8217;<\/font>, move the corner that&#8217;ll be twisted anti-clockwise into the front-right position, F<font color=\"red\">D&#8217;F&#8217;R&#8217;D&#8217;<\/font>R<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>Middle Orientation:<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Flip front-middle with right-middle: FU<font color=\"red\">D&#8217;<\/font>L<sup>2<\/sup>U<sup>2<\/sup>D<sup>2<\/sup> R, change top so other is on the right: <font color=\"red\">R&#8217;<\/font>D<sup>2<\/sup>U<sup>2<\/sup>L<sup>2<\/sup> D<font color=\"red\">U&#8217;F&#8217;<\/font><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\nF = Front face, R = right side, L = left side, B = Back face, U = top side, D = bottom face. <sup>2<\/sup> = turn twice.
